Are you a rockstar mental health professional? We’re looking to expand the Happy Minds Psychology team, and we’re wondering if YOU might fit the bill?
About the job
We are seeking a dedicated, rockstar mental health professional who has an interest in working in the area of fertility, perinatal, women and infant mental health or parenting as we expand our services to better meet the growing needs of individuals and families in Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast (and beyond, via telehealth) now and into the future.
We are looking for a superstar psychologist/intern psychologist, but in building our mental health support team, we are also keen to speak with mental health social workers or nurses, experienced counsellors and/or occupational therapists with a mental health background. Diversity is what matters, so that we end up building a team where we can leverage from other practitioners’ backgrounds.
About Happy Minds Psychology
Happy Minds is based in Ocean Grove, on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula, in calm and welcoming newly renovated offices. We work primarily with women and those around them to create and sustain families that not only survive, but also thrive and flourish. Using a range of treatment modalities – including Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy – we aim for evidence-based assessment and intervention to support people through the challenges that may arise before and during pregnancy and in the post-natal period. As we expand our business, we are looking to create a HUB for women in Geelong and their families – a place where individuals can be vulnerable, feel validated and feel included and empowered.
Our culture at Happy Minds focuses on ensuring that all team members feel supported and nurtured, in turn allowing our best work in providing that necessary support and care to our clients. We are a small team and it would be amazing to welcome your skills as our friendly team grows.
About you
Our core requirement is that you are committed to supporting and empowering positive, strengths-based change for women and their families, always in the understanding that families come in all shapes and sizes. You have possibly already worked in the perinatal area or this is an area you’re keen to expand into. You have a progressive mindset and view of what families can look like – and you’re devoted to assisting those families through issues as diverse as infertility, the ups and downs of IVF, the challenging world of surrogacy, pregnancy complications, birth trauma, post-partum concerns and parenting difficulties. You approach therapy with a non-judgmental and collaborative perspective, always looking to support individuals as they learn effective strategies that promote health and well-being.
